Went for Lancing today for a change. I only had the later afternoon, so was thinking ahead to high tide problems. Launched from the sailing club with 4.5m sail, wave board, sunshine, and lots of 2-3foot waves. I guess the sets were certainly chest high. Nice and clean on the inside where the wind angle was almost a tad cross off. Shorebreak riding, but the angle of the beach here leaves you an exit onto the next section or for a quick gybe , even when you would expect to be smashed onto the shingle. You need to have faith and you need to be high on the wave as you pass over the rock groynes!!

Earlier I watched a sit-on canoeist at big Hove get nailed about 6 times as he tried to get back onto land. He timed it bad and failed to put any effort into it so got what he deserved, but it was brutal to watch. Wind was a bit onshore so moved onto Shoreham where the angle was good but the waves werent really breaking on the inside, more sort of 100 yds out.
